Best practices

Getting the most from Kwai Lekr.

These are the habits we see on the listings that win the most visits, bookings and orders on Kwai Lekr — whether you run a business, a restaurant, a wine estate, a craft brand or a shop. None of it needs a marketing budget; it needs accurate detail and a little upkeep.

Photos

Lead with one strong, honest photo

  • Use a wide landscape photo of the real place, product or plate — no stock images and no photos with text or logos burnt into them.
  • Shoot in daylight or good indoor light, hold the camera level, and keep the subject in the middle two thirds of the frame.
  • Add three to eight supporting photos: the space, the people, the detail and the packaging. Listings with a gallery get opened far more often.
  • Replace seasonal photos when the season changes so visitors always see what they will actually walk into.
Words

Say what you do, where, and for whom

  • Open with one plain sentence: what you offer and the town you serve. That first line is what shows up in search results and on cards.
  • Write for a first-time visitor. Skip slogans, all-caps and long history paragraphs before the practical detail.
  • Name the things people actually search for — dishes, grape varieties, services, brands and suburbs — in normal sentences.
  • Keep it accurate. If something is seasonal, by appointment, or limited, say so on the listing rather than in a reply later.
Details

Keep hours and contact details current

  • Fill in trading hours for every day, including the days you are closed, so the open-now badge is trustworthy.
  • Use a number and an email address someone actually monitors, and add WhatsApp if that is where you prefer to chat.
  • Update public-holiday and long-weekend hours a week ahead.
  • Check your address and map pin — wrong pins are the single biggest cause of bad first visits.

Specials & events

Give every offer a clear window

  • Always set a start and end date. Expired specials are hidden automatically, which protects you from honouring stale prices.
  • State the condition up front: days, times, minimum spend, booking required or walk-in only.
  • Load events at least two weeks ahead so they appear in weekly round-ups and local event pages.
  • One well-built special a fortnight beats five thin ones — repeats train regulars to check your page.

Enquiries

Reply fast, in the same channel

  • Aim to answer quote requests, bookings and enquiries within one working day — most people contact two or three listings at once.
  • Answer the question that was asked, then add the one detail they will ask next: price range, lead time or availability.
  • If you cannot help, say so quickly and point them somewhere sensible. It still earns the referral later.
  • Keep quotes and bookings on the platform so the record, the totals and the follow-ups stay in one place.

Reviews

Earn reviews, and answer them like an owner

  • Ask happy customers at the moment they are happy — after the meal, the delivery or the handover.
  • Never buy, trade or write your own reviews. It is the fastest way to lose a listing.
  • Reply to criticism once, calmly, with what you have changed. Future customers read the reply, not just the rating.
  • Treat a pattern in reviews as data — the same complaint three times is an operations problem, not a review problem.
Being found

Help the search engines and the search bar

  • Complete every field you can. A full profile ranks and converts better than a half-built one, on Kwai Lekr and on Google.
  • Pick the most specific category and town rather than the broadest one.
  • Link your Kwai Lekr page from your own website and social profiles, and link back to your site from your listing.
  • Refresh something on your page monthly — a photo, a special, an event or a news post. Active pages get shown more.

Safety

Protect your account and your customers

  • Use a unique password and sign out on shared devices. Only give dashboard access to people who need it.
  • Never ask a customer for card details over email or WhatsApp, and never send payment links from unverified numbers.
  • Collect only the information you need to fulfil the job, and keep customer contact details inside the platform tools.
  • Report anything that looks like impersonation or a scam so we can act on it.
