Our story

Kwai Craft Gin & Beer started in 2018 in a converted feed shed on the edge of the Magalies valley, when two neighbours — a brewer with a stubborn streak and a distiller with a nose for fynbos — decided the town needed something better than what the trucks were dropping off. Today the copper pot still (everyone calls her Katryn) and four stainless brew tanks share one warm, charcoal-walled taproom. The gin side leans on hand-picked Highveld botanicals: juniper, buchu, wild rosemary, naartjie peel and a whisper of honeybush. The beer side is unapologetically fresh — small batches, no additives, and whatever the season asks for. Everything is made, bottled and poured on the same floor. Come for a flight, stay for a braai, leave with a bottle.

Taproom, tastings & tours

The taproom seats 60 inside and about 40 under the pepper trees. Ten taps — six of ours, four rotating guest beers — plus a full gin bar. Dogs welcome, load-shedding-proof, live music on the last Saturday of every month.
