Garlic-and-wine marinated steak in a crusty Portuguese roll with peri-peri and rocket, chips on the side. Quick — once the shopping is done.
Ingredients
- 4 minute or rump steaks, 150 g each
- 4 Portuguese rolls
- 4 cloves + 4 Tbsp + 60 ml + 50 g garlic, peri-peri sauce, white wine and butter
- handful + 2 rocket and tomato
- 1 kg potatoes for chips
- 500 ml sunflower oil
Method

Marinate the steaks in crushed garlic, wine, peri-peri and salt for 15 minutes.

Fry the chips until golden and season.

Sear the steaks in a smoking-hot pan 1–2 minutes a side; add the butter and baste.

Toast the rolls cut-side down in the pan juices.

Fill with steak, pan butter, tomato, rocket and extra peri-peri. Serve with chips.
