Our story
Poetic License Distillery is a small batch distillery making big, bold gin on the West Coast of South Africa. Their two-storey home sits in Port Owen on the banks of the Port Owen Marina, where the bar and tasting room were purpose-designed so visitors get a full view of the still house. Every spirit in the range is available by the perfect pour or in one of the distillery's original cocktails, and if you time your visit right you may catch the team distilling, which happens most weekdays. The line-up spans The Classics (Northern Dry, Old Tom, Fireside Spiced and Strawberry & Cream), The Rarities such as Grapefruit & Tonka Bean, plus gifts, miniatures and merchandise. Note: the distillery is currently going through a brand refresh, so bottle and packaging designs may differ from the images shown.
