Alto Wine Estate sits high on the northern slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, in the heart of the so-called Golden Triangle. Planted on decomposed granite between 100 and 500 metres above sea level and cooled by sea breezes off False Bay, the estate makes red wine only — home of the iconic Alto Rouge, single-varietal Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, the flagship Estate Blend and the limited-release M.P.H.S.
